The engine in the VW Golf Mk4 GTI is the highly acclaimed 1.8T 20V engine as fitted in the Polo GTI, Passat 1.8T and Audi S3. In the VW Golf GTI this engine ships with a stock power of either 150BHP or 180BHP. Remapping the 1.8T engine produces at least 40BHP and 75Nm over stock figures. A performance remap on the 150BHP version lifts power to at least 190BHP and the 180BHP lifts to 220BHP with a performance remap. Benefits are not just limited to the additional power.
