Mercedes AMG cars do not support ‘remapping’ via the OBD diagnostic socket and require BDM tuning. This is where we remove the ECU from the car and flash the software directly to the chip inside the ECU. The results achieved are the same as with a traditional remap, and there are still no physical changes to the ECU in your AMG Mercedes. The remapped software is written directly to the memory on your ECU and the ECU is then re-connected to your vehicle.

We are pleased to announce after much research and development we will soon be tuning tri-core anti-tune vehicles, and BDM (bench) only ECU’s. This allows us to cover the AMG range of Mercedes including the C63 AMG, E63 AMG, SL63 AMG, SLK55 AMG, CL63 AMG and CLS63 AMG amongst many other AMG cars!
In addition to this, Tri-Core (anti-tune) ECUs are now present in most BMW, Volkswagen (VW), Audi, Seat & Skoda vehicles from May 2009 onwards, as well as some of the latest Ford and Land Rover offerings such as the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport 3.0 SDV6 and Freelander 2 2.2 SD4 with the sequential turbo charging.
Tuning these modern ECU’s requires their removal from the vehicle, they cannot be tuned via the traditional OBD method. We are however flashing directly to the ECU and not physically adding any hardware. The end result is exactly the same as if the file had been written to the ECU through the cars diagnostic (OBD) socket.

Our Aston Martin Vantage remap confidently delivers gains of 22-25bhp and 30blft of torque In fact the peak bhp rise is closer to 50bhp, and comes in perfectly as the AMV8 comes on song at 4800rpm, you will also notice from the dyno chart the torque is flat and even across the full rev range. This combined with sharper throttle response really improves the dynamics of the car.

The 1.8T as fitted to the Golf, Passat, Polo GTi , Audi TT, Audi A4 and Audi S3 amongst other vehicles is a fantastic engine to tune. The VAG 1.8T ships from factory in a range of powers, 150bhp, 180bhp and 225hp and all can be lifted by a healthy 50bhp while providing sharper throttle response and hugely more torque. If you’ve physically modified your 1.8T a remap can unleash the potential of your modifications. We have some customers with this engine running in excess of 320bhp!
The 1.8T engine was later replaced by the 2.0 TFSI as fitted to Golf GTI, Mk2 Audi S3, Audi A4 and many other VAG group vehicles. This is also a great engine. It shipped from factory in either 200bhp, 210bhp or 265bhp form. We can also lift these engines by a healthy 60bhp. This transforms these vehicles into very rapid cars indeed.
Our pick of the Diesels is the 1.9 TDI which shipped in 100bhp, 115bhp, 130bhp and 150bhp form. All these can be lifted by 30-45bhp depending on the type of tune. Performance following a remap is nothing short of amazing, with the PD engine revving to the red-line with the willingness of a petrol. Economy remaps on the 1.9 TDi can see fuel savings of 15-25% depending on vehicle and driving style with power gains ranging from 25-30bhp on an economy tune!
The 2.0 TDi is also a great engine, and replaced the 1.9 TDi in 2006. These ship in 140bhp or 170bhp form and can both be lifted by 35-40bhp. Pickup following a performance or economy remap on these vehicles is vastly improved and in-gear pull is fantastic. Fuel savings of around 15% can be had on an economy tune.

The Freelander 2.0 TD4 and Freelander 2 2.2 TD4 engines respond very well to remapping.
The 2.0 TD4 engine sourced from BMW and fitted to the original Freelander is a 150bhp engine in stock BMW tune, however Land Rover turned it out with a feeble 112bhp which most owners will agree stuggles to move the Freelander at any great pace. This really knocks the driving experience when overtaking or towing. While maintaining manufacturer levels of reliability JR Tuning can remap the Freelander TD4 lifting power to 145-150bhp while adding another 60Nm of torque. Combined with a wider power band, less turbo lag and sharper throttle response remapping a Freelander TD4 transforms the way it drives. We can also offer EGR blanking for the Freelander 2.0 TD4 engine which combined with a performance or economy remap offers even higher levels of power and sharper pick-up.
The 2.2 TD4 engine sourced from Ford and fitted to the Freelander 2 is a 160bhp engine from factory and moves the Freelander 2 reasonably well. Those looking for even greater performance however will be pleased to know we can lift the 2.2 TD4 engine to 200bhp through remapping alone. Again a wider power band and sharper throttle are also offered and this transforms the Freelander 2 into a very rapid SUV.
